SPO.OP.210 Approach and landing conditions — aeroplanes

Before commencing an approach to land, the pilot-in-command shall be satisfied that, according to the information available, the weather at the aerodrome or the operating site and the condition of the runway intended to be used would not prevent a safe approach, landing or missed approach.

Before commencing an approach operation, the pilot-in-command of the aircraft must be satisfied that:

  1. the weather conditions at the aerodrome or the operating site and the condition of the runway or FATO intended to be used will not prevent a safe approach, landing or go-around, considering the performance information contained in the operations manual; and

  2. the selected aerodrome operating minima are consistent with:

    1. the operative ground equipment;

    2. the operative aircraft systems;

    3. the aircraft performance;

    4. flight crew qualifications.
